Janet P. Taylor

Janet P. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economic, a Bachelor of Laws Degree and a Teachers Diploma from the Mico University. After a short career in teaching, she briefly worked as an Education Officer with the Ministry of Education. She was admitted to the Jamaican Bar in 1986. She was then employed with another law firm for three years and subsequently worked as a legal advisor and then an advisor to the consortium on the Jamaica Railway Corporate project. She mainly practices in the areas of civil litigation, conveyance, probate, and administration.

Mrs. Taylor holds position on a number of boards and is active in her local Citizens Association. She is also an active member of the Anglican Church and is married to Mr. Winston Taylor, a Chartered Accountant and Attorney at Law.


Lilieth C. Deacon

Lilieth C. Deacon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish Literature, a Master’s Degree in Philosophy, and a Bachelor of Laws Degree. She also had a career in teaching English from 1976 to 1981.

She was admitted to the Jamaican Bar in 1986 and was a Legal Advisor in Industrial Relations for the Jamaica Telephone Company, now called Cable & Wireless Jamaica. She has been in her own firm since 1988. Miss Deacon has published several essays on Labour Law and specializes in employment, telecommunications, commercial, conveyance, probate, and administration law. She is also the Chief Examinar for CAPE Law and Chairman of the Board of the Excelsior High School. She is an accredited preacher in the Methodist Church since 1993 and enjoys singing and reading in her spare time.


Joan James

Joan James holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a Bachelor of Laws Degree. She also was admitted to the Jamaican Bar in 1986 and served as Registrar of Titles for one year. She began a partnership with Lilieth Deacon in 1988 and continued until the firm became Taylor, Deacon and James in 1991. She moved to New York and successfully completed the New York Bar there and established her own office in New York. However, she remains a Partner in this law firm and is still a member of the Bar Association in Jamaica.


Kadia J. Wilson

Kadia J. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Wolverhampton, England. She was called to the Bar in England and Wales in November 2002 as a Barrister. She is now a member of the Inns of Court of the Middle Temple.

Then she was admitted to the Jamaican Bar in 2004 and joined Taylor, Deacon, and James in August of that year. She has experience in family law, conveyance, and civil litigation. She enjoys reading and traveling.
